MilesChristi Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Christ's peace. When the Divine Office is celebrated solemnly in a parish church with the faithful present etc, what are the proper vestments for the clergy? Thanks for your help!
Cam42 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Cassock, Surplice, Stole and Cope. The laity should be vested in Cassock and surplice.....here are a pictures of solemn Pontifical Vespers at my home parish, which is Novus Ordo. It is not a pre-conciliar parish. Theologian in Training Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Also, clergy can wear an alb, stole, and chasuble or dalmatic (if the one leading the prayer is a deacon)
