Hello. I have a question for one who is divided among family like myself. I'm sure people get this question alot on here but. What is a person to do when one person wants to go toward the direction of the Catholic Faith, and the other who wants to reject it entirally and have nothing to do with Jesus at all?

Ive believed in Jesus (God) for years now, and have been divided in my living residence all this time. My parents do not believe in Jesus, there new agers unfortunately. I just recently told them that I wanna move toward the Catholic Faith & Church, and now they are even more resistance than before.

I stopped speaking as much and started doing more to show my Faith in Jesus in Action more now, to demonstrate my commitment to God, Actions speak louder than words. Why I choose this now is because Speaking to them about Christ seems to start War, and thats uneccessary, unless its in absolute defense of belief in Christ, But God doesn't need me to defend Him Hes perfectly capitable of defending Himself. etc.

I know Prayer is important, I know Jesus said he came to seperate the household, Father & Son, Mother & Daughter etc.

you pretty much touched on every bit of advice i would give:

--pray
--witness through action
--understand that belief in Jesus naturally pushes some people away

regarding prayer, i specifically have in mind the Holy Family and the rosary. since you struggle w/ a family divided, pray to the Holy Family (Jesus, Mary, Joseph) that your family will be conformed to Theirs. also, the rosary has AMAZING powers of conversion. pray it often that the Lord will soften their hearts and bring them to Hisself.

the Blessed Sacrament has amazing powers of conversion as well. many have come to faith in Christ before it and because of it. you don't have to be a Catholic in order to adore the Blessed Sacrament. pray for the conversion of your family, and pray that the Lord will strengthen you through the Eucharist to be a powerful witness of faith in him and to persevere in times when family life is rough. if adoring Jesus in this way is new or foreign to you, then the experience will be helpful in your own journey of faith as well.
