Okay...so my parents are out of town for the next two weeks for my sister's wedding/family reunion. I can only go to the wedding so I'll have the house to myself for little over a week. anyhoo, as a few of you know the kitchen has been rebelling, as my mom would put it. There's two main problems. first of all, a couple of the faucets are "coughing." That is, somehow air is entering the pipes and coming out of the faucet. Second of all, the stove has been acting up for awhile. one burner over heats while the one next to it underheats. Only half of the broiler works. My mom says that the appliances are staging a protest. First the refrigerator stopped working then the we had to replace the dishwasher. on top of all that it can be difficult to find anything.

Oh dear... :( That is unfortunate...

I hope your kitchen starts to behave soon...

About the water problem. Are yall using well water? lol Because since we live in the country we're on well water and sometimes our faucets do that when air has got into the pipes and we have to drain the well out to make it stop lol

Yeah we are. We think that's a definite possibility. My mom thought maybe something was wrong with the pump. Unfortunately, money's tight right now and we can't exactly have it fixed, yet. in the meantime I just let it drip to release the air.

Believe me I know what it's like being tight on money. Have yall tried flushing out the tank yet?

Posted

I haven't heard anything about that. I'm not even sure we have a tank.

Okay Zach, I just asked my dad what to do, it won't cost you any money lol

You need to cut off the power on the well and find the closest faucet to the water well and open it. That'll drain out all the water. He said just let the water run until nothing else comes out. And then turn off that faucet switch back on the power. Open another faucet. There will be some air in the line but it'll bleed out the line and should fix the air in the pipes problem

rofl you can do it Zach :D:

It's only the drinking faucets that cough. Everything else seems to be fine. I'll try it anyway.

okay I've turned off the power and I've turned on the faucet in my shower. How long does it usually take?

Posted

it'll probably take a while depending on how full the tank is.

Everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks and tell your Dad thanks too. Is this a temporary fix or will this solve the problem?

It only took about ten minutes. I was using the faucet in my shower.
