The only place I can walk to are school (but we homeschool), the park (which we do)... the cornfields (uh... okay) and the other myriad of houses.... I wish we could walk to more places, but we can't. And I wish we had a better public transit system (I've used the great light rail system to just about it's full usefulness... I just don't go up and down the Hiawatha coridor all that often.) And I remember when my mom could fill up her tank (or the attendant would really) on her Ford Galaxy 500, hand the guy a $10 and get change.

Sojourner Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Gas prices are $2.69 at the station near my house. Last year at about this time, I gave up my parking garage pass downtown and started biking to work, which I estimate saves me roughly $100 a month in parking and gas costs. That number is only going up now ... If Indy had a slightly better public transportation system I'd give up my car altogether. It's much more of a hassle than it's worth, in my opinion.
Andrea348 Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 i'm not excited about this gas increase because i'm gonna be starting my teaching job soon which will be 60 miles round trip. i'll be going through gas like crazy.
