Kilroy the Ninja Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Jesus would probably have a bit of mutton with some unleaven bread... I've said it before and it bears repeating.... All of God's creatures have there place... right beside the mashed potatoes!
zwergel88 Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Why is everyone mad at the people who protect the animals???
Noel's angel Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 because of the fashion they do it in-distasteful to say the least
dspen2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Author Posted August 19, 2005 i think i'll send them boxes of BEEF!!!
1337 k4th0l1x0r Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I don't give painkillers to my tomato plants when I pick them. And here is the greatest PETA tribute ever:
littleflower+JMJ Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 they are just ridiculous!! we had someone who came into town to "protest" the circus, and it made the news--but this girl was hired by PETA so was that even a real protest? i mean come on peeps lol she got paid. anyways she did a scandalous demonstration--the best part was that a local radio station was there as well, protesting HER hahaha they had free hotdogs and drinks for everyone and gave out tickets to the circus.... lol
prose Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I am all for vegetarians. I am not for using religion, or graphic images to "change" people, which seems to be PETA's way of working. This summer they had a billboard in our city that insinuated something about not being able to have an erection. Right where kids could see it. I am all for animal rights, I am none for PETA.
p0lar_bear Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005
hey, vegetarians are cool!!
I don't think anyone really minds if someone is a vegetarian (we all still love TCW). The problem I have, which I'm sure is shared by many others, is when people are militant about it, saying that eating meat is evil or akin to murder. PETA is militant about it. They put animal life on the same level as (or higher than) human life, which I find horribly offensive. People like the ALF (Animal Liberation Front) and ELF (Earth Liberation Front) are much worse. The ALF has blown up McDonalds with people in them to protest their use of meat. They also release wild animals from zoos (bengal tigers loose in Boston), which is both cruel to the animal (because they release them into an environment they aren't equipped to deal with) and horribly irresponsible (people get killed). The ELF also had a penchant for blowing things up...though I haven't heard much about these groups in the last few years. Not eating meat is fine, but labeling all those who do eat meat and those who make their living off raising meat as evil, unChristian, and murderers is ridiculous and offensive.
Sarah_JC Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 zwergel, follow the link and look at their new ad campain. It's disrepectful. I read through the thread, and found a link to something our Pope said when he was a Cardinal. It was about stewardship for animals. Why can't we eat animals that have happy lives and painless deaths? Some farming methods need to be banned, but so does some of PETA's methods. Man, I love when people protest protesters. Let's all go protest next time there's a anti-life demonstration. w00t.
Thy Geekdom Come Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 While I don't like the abuse that oftentimes goes on in a lot of animal meat plants, I hate far more the extremism supported by PETA and their ilk. The kosher laws of Judaism stated that animals should be slaughtered with a knife cut, from ear to ear, across the throat. It would cause almost immediate death and very little suffering. However, when everything's said and done...you've still just killed a heffer and you're roasting it. PETA's just nuts. I like meat.
zabbazooey Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 How rude! They used my religion as a TOOL against me! *takes a bite of BEEF chimichanga* Well tomorrow I will, because today's FRIDAY!
1337 k4th0l1x0r Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Everytime a PETA member doesn't eat meat, I eat an extra burger.
stargirl3:16 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I'm a member of PETA... People Eating Tasty Animals
avemaria40 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 (edited) This definetely has gone too far with trying to save the animals. i plan on only eating fish, and free range eggs and chickens when i move out of my house b/c mistreating animals means the food is actually not healthy enough to eat and it is really cruel but just b/c u wanna save the animals doesn't mean u desecrate the Holy Mother. also, why does it seem that ppl are willing to save the animals but when it comes to abortion, euthanasia, death penalty, etc. it's ok?
