cappie Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 No condoms please, we're Catholic From: Agence France-Presse August 20, 2005 FOUR people giving out free condoms to the crowd at the Catholic World Youth Day jamboree in Cologne overnight were slapped on the hands and insulted by angry young pilgrims. Some Catholic youngsters tried to tear the bags of condoms which were being distributed by a Belgian company in the packed square in front of Cologne Cathedral. "The opponents to condoms told us they would rather see beautiful babies being born," said one of the four Dutch students paid to carry out the handout. "We are going to have to get out of here because it is getting dangerous." A manager for the company behind the stunt - which was not approved by the festival's organisers - said the scheme was part of the debate about allowing Catholics to use condoms to help prevent AIDS and protect homosexuals during sex.

If you believe the Bible, only have sex with the person of the opposite gender to whom you are married and then stay married. That is only an issue of you don't believe the Bible or are disobedient to it and if you don't believe the Bible or try to follow what it says, then it shouldn't be a big deal to you what the Catholic Church thinks of condoms because as much as Catholic and Protestants may differ, Catholics do tend to believe the Bible and at least I've not heard of the Chruch getting that involved in the sex lives of non-believers. As my group was hiking to the airfield where the vigil was going to be a group of people were handing out pamphlits so our priest went up and took one and then proceeded to shout "DON'T TAKE ONE!!! THEY'RE ANTI-CATHOLIC!!" So we didn't take one, the people handing them out got so mad they started throwing them at us, so we picked them up and gave them back to them. It was kinda funny!
