Thy Geekdom Come Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 They're using wooden patens and wooden chalices (with gold inlay)
Old_Joe Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 (edited) ouch someons could get splinters on their lips with those wooden chalices Edited August 23, 2005 by Old_Joe
thessalonian Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 The parish I go to some of the time uses something that looks like a punch bowl for the hosts and a koolaid picture, minus the smiley face (fortunately) for the wine.
Noel's angel Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 our school uses a fruitbowl looking thing and a ceramic chalice with mosaic tiles
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I went to a Mass with a glass Chalice... that just threw my focus off so much...
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 liturgical abuses smell of elderberries.... we have this priest who always does them and he thinks hes really cool and hes like "revelation is god saying WHAT'S UP???" he refuses to preach from the pulpit and walks down into the middle of isle. hes a jesuit so...................
Noel's angel Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 is his name Frank Diamond??? Cause he does things like that...
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 no whos frank dimond? ohHH! Everyone calls him Father Hank instead of his last name (which i don't even know )
Noel's angel Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 He's a Jesuit priest who makes jokes in the middle of Mass and shouts out 'spotty dog' now and again fo no reason. He's young and thinks he's really 'cool'. He's also made comments about when he was in Africa and how the kids were saying he looked like a monkey because he had hairy legs and he said 'who are they to be calling me a monkey? Look whos talking'
Thy Geekdom Come Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005
Sounds cool. A bit rustic, but cool.
Try not cool and definitely not allowed.

Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I've met a Jesuit Priest who memorizes the Gospel, and then Proclaims it like a story... it is very captiating, but certain parts made me wonder how much of it he was ad libbing... I also heard he does theatrical presentations of the Gospel during Mass...

Fides_et_Ratio Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 My parish has started using glass chalices (we're hoping that it's just temporary while they clean/fix the old ones-- they gold inlay was chipping..). I still complained (as usual). It seems like as some things get better, other things get worse!

Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 wow that jesuit seems a bit crazy and a little racist.
