blueufo7 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Lately, I haven't been setting an alarm in the morning, but instead telling my guardian angel what time I want to wake up... and she gets me up on time! It kind of weirds me out a little... What kinds of things do you do for your angel... what kinds of things does your angel do for you?
zabbazooey Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 (edited) I don't pray to my angel or anything...oops Edited August 25, 2005 by zabbazooey
blueufo7 Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 Another thing my angel is REALLY good at is finding an awesome parking spot when I'm running late and searching for a spot or if the parking lot is almost full.
morostheos Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Mary has ALWAYS found me parking spots! She's so good at it! "Hail Mary, full of grace, help me find a parking space" Works every time. My guardian angel though? hmmm...i dunno When I was little I always imagined my guardian angel kept a force field around me to keep away all the bad things - i think my angel did a pretty good job
Old_Joe Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005
I gotta try that.
ditto
RC_ Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 My guardian angel once saved me from a flat tire. I went through a bunch of tacks, and several stuck into the tire itself, but none penetrated the innertube. When I had a siezure once, and nobody was supposed to be home, my dad forgot an important report at work, and walked in the door the instant I went grand mal. :taco: Although he must have been on a coffee break when I was hit by the truck. j/k It's God's plan, I just wish I could sneak a peak at the blueprints.
infinitelord1 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 sometimes ill pray to god so that he wakes me up for church on sundays and its happened a few times.
mariology21 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 My guardian angel wakes me up if I ask him to. It's pretty darn cool!!! (Except for the nights when I go to bed and forget to ask him!! I've realized that he'll do anything as long as I ASK....and as long as it doesn't go against God!! ) One time when I was driving something fell off the seat so like an idiot I bent over to pick it up (stooooooooooooopid I know!!!!) but all the sudden I heard clear as day "JEN!!!!!!!!!!" I looked up quick to see that the car in front of me had stopped suddenly. Somehow I managed to stomp on the brake in time and nothing happened. I have no doubt it was my angel because no one else was with me. I have many other stories about my little guardian angel too! We've become good friends!!! ~Jen
Theoketos Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 (edited) I too imagined the force field thing... I need to talk to my GA more often. Edited August 25, 2005 by Theoketos
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I think it is just amazing to reflect on having this being around you always. Your Angel can see the face of God all the time, and he is in your presence... just makes me stop and think. I think I've felt my guardian angel embrace me once, or at least something holding me when there was people around, but no one close enough to hold me. It was interesting. I love my Guardian Angel though. I've avoided so many accidents that I swear would have been accidents. Thank you God for this wonderful being!
FutureSoror Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 When I was taking figure skating lessons I fell on the ice quite a bit, and it always looked back but I was never badly hurt. I always told people it was my guardian angel. They didn't seem to think much of my guardian angel, but they marveled that I didn't get hurt.
Paladin D Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 It's unfortunate that guardian angels are under-appreciated, in Christianity today.
curtins Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 well, I'm still here so my guardian angle must be doing something right
FutureSoror Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Yeah, I feel guilty about not giving him very much attention.
Theologian in Training Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I used to do that until my guardian angel kept letting me sleep in. Try explaining to your mentor that you missed Morning Prayer and Mass because you did not set your alarm clock, waiting for your guardian angel to wake you up. Unfortunately, a reason such as that is seen as an excuse in this day and age....unfortunately. God Bless
Fidei Defensor Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Heheh.. last night, I asked my angel to not let me fall back asleep in the morning when my alarm went off. When I woke up then, in the morning, I decided that I had time to sleep another hour, but I just could not fall back asleep. But then I remembered I told him not to let me go back asleep, so I told him it was okay now, and I fell asleep.
scardella Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Wow... thanks for the reminder, I always forget about my buddy... "My buddy, My buddy, My buddy and meeeeee!"
IcePrincessKRS Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I ask our guardian angels to watch over and protect us in the night while we sleep, but thats usually all I ask on a regular basis. Sometimes I send my angel to friends in need of prayer.
Totus Tuus Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I try to talk to mine every day. Two things I recently learned are: + Do not try to find out the name of your guardian angel. A demon could give you a name. I'm not trying to be a weirdo or anything, but a reliable priest told me that it is better just to refer to your angel without using a name you were "inspired" with or something, but you can give your angel a nickname, if you wish. + God chooses the angel that has the personality that best suits YOU! Also, there are nine choirs of angels, and guardian angels are not one of them- God chooses from any one of the nine choirs (archangels, seraphim, cherubim, dominions, virtues, etc.). Isn't that aweseme?? Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here: ever this day be at my side to light, to guard, to rule, to guide. Amen.
