franciscanheart Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I suggested this movie for my youth group's monthly movie night: [img]http://www.ziyue.com/poster/w/WhatsEatingGilbertGrape.jpg[/img] my youth director, knowing that i also suggested some movies that were pg-13 or even R level movies, was highly skeptical of my idea. no one in the youth group could support me in it because no one had ever seen it - and only a few had ever heard of it. So I'm wondering - anyone else ever see it? [I posted this in open mic to hopefully get a larger number of views - I know lots of different kinds of people browse this board and knowing that the likelyhood of finding someone who has seen it is not so great, i would appreciate it being in one of the most frequented boards.]

I basically never watch TV, but I stayed at a hotel the other night and I was bored so I turned on the TV and that movie was one! : I just thought it was amusing to see Johnny Depp and Leonardo in such goofy roles.. I kept thinking of Pirates of the Caribean or The Man in the Iron Mask and just getting a laugh out of the acting.

I remember watching it the first time I felt compelled to fast forward through some of it.
IcePrincessKRS Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I liked it. Its been ages since I saw it, though. I have one friend who says that this is one of the best roles Leonardo ever played... I think her other favorite is one where he dies fairly early on in the movie... she and I aren't big Leo fans. lol Johnny Dep on the other hand. WOOT!!! : Anyway, its a good flick.
