I just searched for one and couldn't pull up anything about a Novena to St. Norbert, you could always create one yourself.

Is there a prayer to St. Norbert anywhere?

Posted

You could ask the Norbertines. I'm sure they'd know.

Actually what Colette is suggesting is a good idea.

Last year I started looking for a "Chaplet of Protection for Law Enforcement" :starwars:

I couldn't find one, so I designed one and had it made.
It is beautiful and I have been using it since August 2004.

Eddie, is there a prayer for the intercession of St. Norbert?

Posted

I don't think so.... let's see what I can draft...

St. Norbert, apostle of the Eucharist and founder of the Cannon Regulars of Pre Montre. You were filled with so much wisdom and zeal given to you from the Lord himself. I ernestly ask you for that same wisdom, and for that same zeal. Please help me to imitate you in my life, and through that imitation, I may honor Christ. You drew your strength from the source and summit of our life, the Eucharist, I ask that I may also draw my strength from the Eucharist. As I draw that strength I ask you to please intercede for me before my Heavenly Father, especially for this intention __________________. I ask this though the intercession of the Blessed Mother, Norbert and all the saints, through Christ who is Lord, AMEN.

I LIKE IT, I THINK IT WORKS.

One comment though...ernestly is spelled EARNESTLY.
Occupational hazard, I'm a teacher.

So I went ahead and asked the Norbertines if there was a novena and this is the reply they sent:

"There is in fact no novena to St. Norbert. He lived back in the 1120s. Novenas are a much later devotion and were usually approved by the church as such. Norbert’s ministry was that as ‘apostle of the Eucharist’. A fitting novena according to Norbert would be to attend and have devotion to the Eucharist"

I like that last line.

Old Joe...............ask them if there is ANY prayer to him.

btw, how did u get a hold of them?

Posted

yeah how did u get hold of the Norbertines, I know there isn't an abbey in Nebraska, unless Daylesford Abbey is there, I'm not sure about that one, I know there's Moses the Black in Missisippi, Santa Maria de la vid Priory, then St. Norbert Abbey, and St. Michaels abbey in Californina, (all the previous ones beside st. mikes have ties to each other. ST. Mikes abbey in California was started on it's own as an independent abbey from priests who fleed holand due to the persecution of Catholic priests.

Anyways, how did u contact them?

I'm entering the Norbertines in Green Bay or California one of the two. So hit me up!

Must have been Fr. Dave Komatz. Can't think of any other Dave's.
