zabbazooey Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 (edited) I was talking to my boss about Catholicism the other day (he's a cradle Catholic who doesn't practice but says he does) And I said "The Mass is the greatest prayer and sacrifice there is in Roman Catholicism, how can you NOT go to Mass?!" And he laughed at me and said, "Prayer? Sacrifice? Aren't you overstating things a bit?" He continued to laugh at me. I've never felt so hurt. Edited August 29, 2005 by zabbazooey
Theoketos Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Do not take it personally. If you suffer for His sake, you will be blessed!
dUSt Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Just take comfort in the fact that you'll be able to laugh at him while in heaven when he's sitting in hell.
zabbazooey Posted August 29, 2005 Author Posted August 29, 2005 I know, but it's just so ignorant. Ugh.

avemaria40 Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 i hate it when ppl give Catholics a bad name! I've had teachers make comments about our teaching on birth control, ppl say how our abortion teaching is messed up and some of my friends think that ppl who wait till marriage to have sex lie about it and that everyone has sex b4 marriage. But zabbazooey, pray for the person who said that and always stay true to ur beliefs. ur a really cool person

Be a witness of Love to him, and if the subject of Catholicism comes up again, you can share your faith with him. It is my experience that people who intentionally skip Holy Mass almost never believe in the Real Presence. Talking with him about the Holy Eucharist could be a great future conversation...

I'm not inclined to write somebody off because they think differently than me. It's an opportunity to dialog, and you may end up changing his mind. Think of it!
let_go_let_God Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Pray for him. I guess that's all I can say. God bless- LGLG

dUst I love how you are so frank... Zabbey (my nickname for you) I know how you feel. I only feel helpless then I begin to think as dUst. But I don't think of myself sitting in heaven. I think more of God will give your punishment. I do not like when people say that they are Catholic and then they live with their boyfriend or they say "Well, I am Catholic but I don't believe in confession." It makes me sad.
Ash Wednesday Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Whenever things like this happen, I offer up to God the pains and sadness that I feel, for their souls.
