EcceNovaFacioOmni Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 We could use http://www.lulu.com and create a book full of member's tracts to raise money for phatmass. Just an idea.
p0lar_bear Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 We could, but it would probably end up very amateurish. If we want to publish, it would be better to use an actual publisher because they would take care of editing, endorsements, imprimature, legalities, lay-out (not as easy as it sounds), and advertizing. Never underestimate the importance of a good publisher. It would be best if people started publishing the tracts as articles in apologetics magazines. It would be easier to find a publisher who would take it then. (The tracts would also be a lot more polished.) I'm not trying to knock your idea, I just think that if we have something worth publishing, we should do it right.
EcceNovaFacioOmni Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 Getting a publisher for a book would be expensive. The magazine might work.

EcceNovaFacioOmni Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 (edited) Do you think there is a large enough market to justify it? Is it worth the amount of work? Edited August 30, 2005 by thedude
p0lar_bear Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 As our tracts stand now, no. Many of them may work as articles, but since most magazines have access to better authors on a lot of the topics, they may not be interested. For a book the tracts vary too much in quality, style, and reading level to work together. If you want to do a strictly phatmass production, we could see if any phatmassers have the time and ability to do some layout for individual tracts. Someone (or a committee) could choose several tracts to be printed. Those tracts could be polished and edited by going through several people. Then the lay-out/graphics designer person could put them in a nice format. We could set it up that you could print it off-line for a donation.
