I read something from his site today about sola scriptura and found it sort of funny. The logic of the doctrine is simply not there. Who is considered by Protestants to be their most able and credible defender?

I don't know who is supposed to be the best protestant debate person.. It probably depends on the denomination and stuff.

It's funny though because I was just thinking about James White yesterday. I was thinking about his debates with Gerry Matatics and how sad it is that Matatics is rad trad now. :(
There was one debate in particular where Matatics gave James White an almost comical spanking. They seemed like the best match in debates.. I wish Matatics hadn't gotten all weird. :(

I wasn't into apologetics long enough ago to know much about Matatics before he went haywire. I wish he'd come back, along with some of the other radtrad apologists.

from what i can tell, its James White. even if you're nominally acquainted w/ apologetics, you've heard of him. he seems to be the most active debater, and no protestant apologist has received more attention from catholic apologists that he has. of the "usual suspects" i have listed in the anti-catholicism entry, he has the most articles, and i'm afraid i've only scratched the surface. see for yourself:

James White is, so far, the only thing I do not like about Arizona.
