curtins Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 yeah so Today was my first day of high school. You could call it "freshman orientation" but that was really only in the morning. It was only freshman and transfer students. Thers about 80 or so incoming freshman and it seems pretty cool. I think everyone was real nervous but I was pretty laid back- I wasnt sure about what to expect but I wasnt really that nervous. I got a feel for the building. Got my homeroom and locker. Then we went on an abreviated schedual so I met all my teachers. Yeah so I'm in band, and uh my band teacher, to put it in a way, is a very good looking young woman . : : : I didnt want to be in band but thats all I can really be in, and I'm thinkin man this is gonna be lust central with bad thoughts all the time and temtations- for a whole year but then I was thinking. Maybe its a gift and a chance from God to come to learn to appreciate beauty in a good way, which I've been struggling with of late. Like if I see a beautiful girl somewhere I'll avert my eyes all the time. And while it helps me to not lust, it bugs me cause I can't appreciate the beauty that God has made, and so maybe this will be like a good chance to do so and work on it. With God's help it'll deffinatly be fly : so yeah thats it. I have off tomorow and the soph. jun. and sen come in then everyone goes back friday for a half day. Maybe thats when I'll start freaking out. But we'll see how that goes.
voiciblanche Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 There's EIGHTY freshmen? Man. There's about three hundred and fifteen freshmen at Nolan -- which is a Catholic high school, mind you.
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 we have less than 80 (private school)
voiciblanche Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Wow. That's crazy. I can't imagine having eighty or less... and I came from a junior high with about thirty eighth graders.
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 thirity thats cool wow did you know everyone really really well? we have such a small class that everyone knows everyone.
FlyLikeABird Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 My grad class was 90 strong. We averaged that through from the start with very few changes. The year following mine they "ballooned" to around 120.
Andrea348 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 i graduated high school with 27....it was great....we all got along and had a lot of fun....plus it was all girls....good times....
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 i don't start school for 6 days! :
Theoketos Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Curtins, I am sure that with the Grace of God you will do well! Keep this prayer in mind. O Glorious St Joseph, Model of all those who are devoted to labor, Obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously, Putting the call of duty above my many sins; To work with thankfulness and joy, Considering it an honor to employ and develop, By means of labor, the gifts received from God, to work with order, peace, prudence and patience, never surrendering to weariness of difficulties; to work above all, with purity of intention, and detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account which I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of vain complacency in success so fatal to the work of God
