Socrates Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 (edited) Bale hands down. Keaton didn't do a bad job, but Bale was much closer to the Bruce Wayne of the comics, as opposed to Tim Burton's deliberately odd casting of Keaton. Chris Bale just seemed natural as Bruce. Why are Val Kilmer and George Clooney even on this poll? Edited September 4, 2005 by Socrates
White Knight Posted September 4, 2005 Author Posted September 4, 2005 Because even if we dont like it, we have to face the truth, that they did play in the Batman Films
geetarplayer Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 *ick* Christian Bale's performance as Batman was so inconsistant. I'll admit, he did a good job as Bruce Wayne, but his Batman confused me so! -Mark
Era Might Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 (edited) I thought Bale was fine. But it was funny watching him speak to Katie Holmes, because he has a suble lisp, and it's impossible that she wouldn't recognize a man she's known her WHOLE LIFE behind a mask with an exposed mouth. dUSt Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Val Kilmer played the best Batman even though the movie was horrible.
Krush2k2 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 I thought Bale was awful and very corny. Nobody said "I'm Batman!" worse than he did. Michael Keaten definitly was the best
jmjtina Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Christian Bale is sooooooooooooooooooooo dreamy!
MC IMaGiNaZUN Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 you should be asking who is the best director... SHALOM

This was the one line in Batman Begins taken from the original 1989 Batman. I thought it was kind of cheesy in both movies. Batman doesn't go around calling himself "Batman" in the original comics. It's more a name that's given to his persona by others - "The Batman"
jgirl Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I abstain from voting... You are missing the best Batman ever... ADAM WEST!
White Knight Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 He never played in a movie, only the TV Show.
Asher Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I'm not a big batman fan... so I don't have an opinion.
Sojourner Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 In order of quality: 1) Bale 2) Kilmer 3) Clooney 4) Keaton I really didn't like Keaton as Batman at all. Kilmer and Bale were pretty close.
robguitar Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I liked how Keaton played Batman. He made Bruce Wayne seem angry and tortured all the time and I thought that was cool. I like Bats brooding. Batman begins is the best movie though. Really cool. The only thing I didn't like about Bale was whenever he was Batman, his voice was different. It was kind of annoying to me. Almost like he smoked a couple of packs of cigaretts before getting into the batsuit. The batmobile was especially rocking. It looked like a cross between a Lamborghini Countach and a Hummer.

This makes sense, though the growly voice did get a little corny at times. Begins was cool, because it made an effort to make Batman somewhat beleivable - like dressing up as a bat, etc. might really work. This is also shown in the fight seens, where he remains largely hidden in the shadows, and strikes quickly and unexpectedly. As someone said, "he doesn't give the bad guys time to laugh at him."
