I've only recently started to listen to her stuff. I'm a little curious to hear what people like about her music. I especially like her songs, "Mary" and "Prayer of St. Francis" (which I admit I first heard first on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer epsiode "grave") Is McLachlan Catholic? I don't know, I would think so.

What I've heard of her, I do like. No idea if she's Catholic or not.

Heh...a fellow Buffy fan? ^_^

Im not a huge fan…
But Solace was a great album – too bad the only album by her that I like is so anxiety ridden
But the rest of her work – as much as I have listened seems so shallow

Well one thing's obvious, she's Irish. So there's probably a 98 % chance that she is.

not really. I was more into Angel than Buffy. I had a friend who was a huge Buffy fan.

In case you didn't know, She's from a town that's 45 minutes from where I live.

I don't know if she's Catholic though...

I love her music, but I don't buy it because she is pro-choice (I believe she did a benefit for either Planned Parenthood or some democratic women's convention with Jewel).

Yeah, McLachlan is big on the pro-death contributing.

:ohno: She's Canadian and even if she was Irish-there wouldn't be a 98% chance of her being a Catholic

she did that whole lillith fair thing. thats... sorta not catholic at all. she does have an excellent voice though, and is quite beautiful.

I used to listen to Sarah quite a bit when I was in college, but gradually grew away from her style. She does have some really great songs ... but I just got bored. I've got probably five or six or her CDs. I like "The Freedom Sessions" the best.

I mean't her heratige. I know she wasn't actually born there. But I read in a book that she was Irish. Again, not born there :)

In the sence that I am 1/4 Italian, 1/4 French, 1/4 Irish, and 1/4 Swiss Italian, but I'm still an American :D

Anyone know what the deal is with Ms. McLachlan's song "Dear God"?

I first heard it on her B-sides, Rarities & Other Stuff album. It scandalized me and i threw the album away.

It is my hope that she was going through a tough time and has since reconsidered. Either way, i'm sure the song led many of her fans astray from faith. :(

Anybody remember the song?

No, I don't remember that... There are some things about her that I'm not crazy about anyway.
