To my knowledge, nothing happened. The Vatican Information Service bulletin for the day merely recorded that a meeting took place between "His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI and Msgr. Fellay". I thought it was interesting that they referred to him as a monsignor instead of a bishop. They used to call bishops "monsignor" if they had entered the monsignori before becoming bishop, but that fell out of usage about a hundred years ago.

I have seen the term used for bishops a great deal in Europe. They don't do it here but over there they still do, at least in some places. I would not read too much into that. As far as what happened, it was merely a preliminary meeting, to set the stage (and timeframe) for reconciliation. What is mpost interesting is that Bishop Fellay's term as Superior General is up this October. These will be crucial elections that will very much determine the future of the SSPX, as far as what direction it will go. The factions are mounting.

Now back to the topic at hand:

me! :smokey: :lol_roll:

Just kidding. Talk about whatever you want.
