Lounge Daddy Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Sheehan posted at Moore's blog a few days ago (READ IT HERE) my favorite parts of her long rant was:
It is a Christ-like principal to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and shelter the homeless. That's what is happening in Algiers and other places in Louisiana…but by the people of America, not the so-called "Christians" in charge. If George Bush truly listened to God and read the words of the Christ, Iraq and the devastation in New Orleans would have never happened. I don't care if a human being is black, brown, white, yellow or pink. I don't care if a human being is Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, or pagan. I don't care what flag a person salutes: if a human being is hungry, then it is up to another human being to feed him/her. George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power. The only way America will become more secure is if we have a new administration that cares about Americans even if they don't fall into the top two percent of the wealthiest.
but this wasnt in the msn? ... huh....

Kilroy the Ninja Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 She's beyond misguided. She's delved into the realm of idiocy.

Lounge Daddy Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 bump - just because i thought zwergel88 or maybe Iacobus or someone would try to defend Sheehan
infinitelord1 Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 that stuff is just liberal agenda............it would be retarded to pull out at this point.........if bush did that nobody would support him anymore.
zwergel88 Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005
bump - just because i thought zwergel88 or maybe Iacobus or someone would try to defend Sheehan
Wow, I'm flattered that my liberalness is finally aknowledged lol. Anyway, I was going to post in this thread, but I've had about enough of this Cindy Sheehan buisness. She has a right to her point of view which I happen to think is a good one, but if you want to constantly attack her than that's fine too. I dont' think she was trying to say that New Orleans was occupied as much as she was trying to point out the slow response of the federal government. I actually don't blame Bush for the slow response I think it was more FEMA's fault but I can see where she would blame him. I think that Cindy Sheehan is awesome for standing up for what she thinks is right and I think that she is a good American that we should all be proud of. Cindy Sheehan = awesome Anna
curtins Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 How can you call her awsome? shes making a fool out of herself and being used by the far leftists of this country. How is that awsome?

How is that awsome?
She's not making a fold out of herself, she is participating the great American tradition of political dissent and standing up for what she believes in. Not everyone has the guts to do that.

Lounge Daddy Posted September 19, 2005 Author Posted September 19, 2005 seeing as the msm loves to pick and chose thier reports - ill do the best i can bam
James Taranto, editor of OpinionJournal.com, this week unearthed comments Sheehan made at an anti-war rally at San Francisco State University in April: "I'm going all over the country telling moms: 'This country is not worth dying for.' If we're attacked, we would all go out. We'd all take whatever we had. I'd take my rolling pin and I'd beat the attackers over the head with it. But we were not attacked by Iraq. We might not even have been attacked by Osama bin Laden if 9/11 was their Pearl Harbor to get their neo-con agenda through . . ."
HERE
Sheehan said she considered Lynne Stewart her Atticus Finch, the lawyer who defended an innocent Black man accused of rape in the book and film “To Kill A Mockingbird.” “They’re not waging a War on Terror but a War of Terror,” she said. “The biggest terrorist is George W. Bush.” Sheehan continued, “9/11 was Pearl Harbor for the neo-conservatives’ agenda” and declared the U.S. government a “morally repugnant system.” Then she raged: We have no Constitution. We’re the only country with no checks and balances. We want our country back if we have to impeach George Bush down to the person who picks up the dog sh-t in Washington! Let George Bush send his two little party animals to die in Iraq. It’s OK for Israel to have nuclear weapons but we are waging nuclear war in Iraq, we have contaminated the entire country. It’s not OK for Syria to be in Lebanon. Hypocrites! But Israel can occupy Palestine? Stop the slaughter! While one might dismiss some of Sheehan’s hyperbole due to grief over her son’s death, a little research about Casey Sheehan revealed that contrary to being tricked by military recruiters, Casey Sheehan had re-enlisted in the U.S. Army voluntarily when he was 24-years-old, after serving his first hitch successfully. Casey Sheehan was in fact a hero who received a Bronze Star.
HERE is she in line with extreme liberals?
The website MoveOn.org announced on August 10, 2005 that it was gathering comments via email to place in a two-page newspaper spread in a Sunday edition of the Waco Tribune newspaper in support of Sheehan and her efforts. MoveOn gathered more than 250,000 comments, many of which were included in the advertisement.[41] Tom Matzzie of MoveOn said: "In her grief and bravery, Cindy has become a symbol for millions of Americans who demand better answers about the Iraq war. Though right-wing pundits have attacked her personally, her honesty is unimpeachable. Now more and more mothers (and fathers, brothers, sisters, wives, husbands, sons and daughters) are standing up with Cindy. Please join us, and together, we'll make sure that President Bush can't escape the reality of this war—even in Crawford, Texas." Bam is Cindy too extreme for even the the most liberal thinkers? YES
Finally, I think one must deny to anyone the right to ventriloquize the dead. Casey Sheehan joined up as a responsible adult volunteer. Are we so sure that he would have wanted to see his mother acquiring "a knack for P.R." and announcing that he was killed in a war for a Jewish cabal? (a claim that has brought David Duke flying to Ms. Sheehan's side BAM.) This is just as objectionable, on logical as well as moral grounds, as the old pro-war argument that the dead "must not have died in vain." I distrust anyone who claims to speak for the fallen, and I distrust even more the hysterical noncombatants who exploit the grief of those who have to bury them.
BAM
