Although cooking for someone special is infinitely preferable to cooking for no one at all.
That is very true. Now all I have to do is find someone to cook for Of course, any family that makes me the chef will eventually become very lean So it would be nice to find someone who wanted to cook for ME as well Drat - now I'm hungry

Maria
lol So now we know; the really important thing is that the other is able to cook well. And, presumably, regularly. I guess that means I shouldn't have a hard time getting someone to marry me...
Maria
Chocolate chip cookies? But they're not really feeding. Something that's popular with the people I know is the bread we make. It's just a basic white bread, but it's really good when it's fresh. But, I'm sorry to say, I really doubt I'd be allowed to send any home-made food to Ohio. So I don't even have to wonder whether I'd want to.

Maria
As for the original question, though, definitely. There's something almost perverse and evil about a physical beauty that does not reflect a spiritual beauty. Sorry for all the other lists, but my list of requirements starts with a love for God. If the guy doesn't love God more than he loves me, he doesn't qualify. And, of course, he has to be Catholic... After fulfilling those basic requirements I'll look to see if we'd be good as close friends and a married couple. Of course, I can't imagine myself being really close friends with someone who doesn't share my faith, especially if it's not just going to be over the internet or something. Maria
Matt, do you like home-made grape juice (made from the grapes that grow in the backyard, and tasting similar to normal grape juice)? And I can not only make pies, but I can make a really good pie filling from berries, no recipe. And the pumpkin bread we make is really good, as are the pumpkin pies. Of course, I'm a whiz at making soup from leftovers (assuming I have a standard stock of things I can throw in). Um, our cake mix recipe is good, and I know a recipe for an awesome chocolate icing. Our lemon loaf and banana bread recipes are really good, too. Oh, and I'm also good at making tomato sauces, especially if I have enough stuff to pick whatever I feel it needs. Ok, I'm just boasting. And not in the cross of our Lord. Edited September 23, 2005 by Maria

You beat me too it - I was going to say "I think I've found my future wife!!!" Yea, this type of thing can be bad because you can't tell how a person is saying something - there is no tone. But I think that you and I are on the same page - with our love of food for sure I noticed you saw "we" a lot - do you guys have a shop or something? Or are you just talking about your family in general? Just curious.
Maria
My family, but more specifically my mom and my two sisters who are around my age. "love of food"? I don't know. I enjoy cooking, but eating? Unless I'm hungry, I can do without it. But in our family we certainly get the opportunity to cook a lot. I used to make lunches (hence the soups) and the special foods (hence most of the rest mentioned). For the past two summers my two sisters who are around my age and I have cooked the lunches at a family camp (around 100 persons of most ages). They said our lunches were very child-friendly. Well, it's no wonder -- we just made the kind of stuff we make at home. Except tha we had to do without the ever-present supply of left-overs, so it was more complicated making the menu. It is especially cool if you get any "secret" receipes from your mom that you can share with your own kids someday I am an only child, so I only get to help my mom cook ocassionally. That's probably why I am so bad at it! But we have fun making chilli together! And my dad and I spend time grilling together, which is fun. I only eat when I am hungry as well, but when I am hungry, I love to try new things!!! I am always up for a new experience

Maria
No secret recipes. My grandmother was an awesome cook (I've heard), but she didn't have my mother cook with her and her version of a recipe was 'put a pinch of that in, and then stir it adding this until it's right'. We do have a great recipe for shortbread that was my great-aunts, though. Maybe it's from my grandmother that I get my laxity with recipes from. If I know what effect the combination of ingredients is going to have, I'll do rough approximations. If I am totally unfamiliar with the recipe, I'll follow it properly the first time. "I am an only child" Oh, then maybe I could put you as my 'opposite', since there are 10 children in my family.
