Hey guys, I totally got a new cell phone today! It's from Verizon, and I love it!

Unfortunately, I have a way huge prob, I don't know how to set up my voicemail! It says to press *86 and send, and then follow the instructions, but when I do that it says 'I'm sorry, the Verizon customer you are calling has a voicemail account that has not been set up yet....'

WHAT DO I DO??

Help? :weep:

i would try going on their website.

I think it is www.verizonwireless.com or something like that.

You can do all of your account stuff from there and it is much easier than trying to navigate dumb phone options.

I don't know...I got my phone from my dad and he'd already set it up.

Press # when the prompt comes up and see what options you're given.

I have Verizon, though...you can call me for free.

I don't know extactly, but I just PMed you about about calling them and the number I used to get help.

I just did it as well. I hate Verizon with a vile passion, they are the most useless people on Earth. And they way they program their phones!

FYI, press # and it then gives you the promots the Verizon people tell you to follow (They don't say the part about the pound key though).

You are free to call me if you want, not sure what we would talk about, but I might sing. PM me if you are intrested.

Yeah I knew about the # thing, and I did it after that stupid message, but then it says 'Please dial the number of the person you're calling, if you have a mailbox on this network, press pound' and I've tried both of those options and it doesn't work!!! grrrr :idontknow:

Have you hit # while the lady is still talking and telling you to get ready to leave a message?

look on the website. It is much easier than dealing with the phone and i know that you can take care of it there. :)

unless of course you want to fight your phone.

i would try *86, then hit # and enter in your last four digits of your cell phone number (that's usually the default password, either that or 0000)

ps, i'm on verizon too, you could call me for free as well!

from their site:
How do I set up my Voice Mail?
Press *VM (*86) and SEND and then follow the set-up tutorial which will walk you through selecting a password and recording a voice signature and greeting for your Voice Mailbox.

If you hear a system greeting when you press *86 SEND, press # immediately to interrupt the greeting and follow the tutorial which will walk you through setting up your Voice Mailbox by selecting a password, recording a voice signature and selecting a greeting.
