Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
Broad generalizations bother me.  To say any lifeteen or charismatic shows a real lack of maturity.  Are we to take positions that divide the Church?
i disagree

Extra ecclesiam nulla salus

let me elaborate. I do not think that charasmaticism and traditionalism contradicts each other at alll. But i don't think one can claim to be in both groups. if u like both of these things you could just call yourself a catholic who likes charasmaticism and traditonal elements of the faith.

but i also think that charasmaticism is not really catholic. i believe in speaking in tounges but not in the way it is done now. and from what i am told a lot of charasmaticism is just a lot of praise songs. and that is just not my cup of tea.

Dominus Vobiscum,

sam

The Charismatic Renewal is not just about praise songs, although Charismatics tend to like them. I must say that as far as my cup of tea goes, I much prefer charismatic masses where people SING faithfilled praise songs, than most of the others masses around here where people MUMBLE songs that are neither praise nor beautiful old hymns, I don't know what to call them.

That is not true...you know stuff....

Who is my opposite? I would probably have to say that there are two types of people who fall into that category......

1. Protestants
2. Schismatics (whether they admit they are or not)

Not really Sam. They are very distinct and very focused groups. There may be sects within them, but I didn't mention those did I? If we stick to the terms and not read into them, we will see that those who adhere to Protestantism are the opposite of me, insofar as those persons are PROTESTING the religion to which I adhere. And those who are schismatic are promoting the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him.

Those are opposite of me and they are opposite of my position, as a Roman Catholic.
