But the funny thing is, he didn't collect it.

why didn't you ace it? i just got back a quiz and should have aced it but i didn't show my work on a problem and he took a point off it was stupid (sorry if i offend) it was an easy dumb problem i can do in my head why should i have to do extra work?

As I explained earlier here are the reasons why I had three wrong.

1) I forgot the when you answer is negative, you flip the symbol. It was in my mind, and I showed it a step earlier, but not for my solution.

2) I forgot to multiply by the reciprical and I got an answer of 1 instead of 3.

3) I forgot to show my answer was negative, which I did for the answer above, but not for my solution set.

Most problems...I can do easily without showing work. Most of the time, it's showing the work that is the problem.
My teacher is a nut about formatting. If you are off of a step, you get marked off wrong.
Oh, well, life goes on.
