Sojourner Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 OK, I only get cravings for chocolate every so often. For the past few days I've had it, and I've learned the best antidote to a chocolate craving is the Chantico from Starbucks. I know Starbucks is the evil empire. I don't want to hear it. Chantico is, and I'm not exaggerating here, heaven in a little brown cup. Anyway, so I started on Wednesday trying to get one. The first Starbucks I went to was out, didn't have any, but would be getting some in soon. I tried another one (there are at least three within an easy walk of where I work), and they were fresh out, although they could mix some up in 10 minutes. I gave up for that day (didn't have the 10 minutes). Tried the next day, still out. This afternoon, I got smart and called first. The dude on the other end said, "Yeah, we've got it." I said, "So if I come over right now I can get one?" He said, "Yes." I go over, and he thought I meant I wanted a bag of the mix. Really, they'd have to mix it up, and it would take 10 minutes. Arghh!!!!!! They gave me a free coffee, which was nice. But now I'm beginning to wonder. Is this the end of Chantico as I knew it?
sweetpea316 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I sure hope not! I still havn't tried it...

Carrie Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 It's that good? Now I'm wondering if I should try one.
Sojourner Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 It's like the best chocolate bar you ever tasted in drinkable form.

It's NEVER out of season for fabulous chocolate.
Ora et Labora Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I LOCE Starbucks and chocolate!!! Little pieces of heaven.
Ora et Labora Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I meant LOVE. Literally, LOVE....Lol!
Guest butthat Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 starbucks is a poor example of corporate citizenship i can't believe you patronize them
DeeDee Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Does Chantico come in decaff? The chocolate has enough caffeine to spin me around. Now you've got me curious. Dare I?
Guest T-Bone Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Did you just say the "d"-word? Wash out your mouth!!
Theologian in Training Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Chantico is caffeine free. It is one of the few things I can get on those infrequent visits, usually with priests, to Starbucks. And, I can attest to what Sojourner is saying. Think of it like this, it is like taking a tour in the Hershey factory, and that smell that they have, (which used to be real chocolate until they moved it elsewhere). They melt down chocolate into drinkable form....mmmmm
matt_in_ohio Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I always get a tall double chocolate chip frap. Those are pretty good. Of course it falls in line with my obsession with chocolate chips The Starbucks by me used to display and sell my photographs, so I felt like I should go there. They do a lot for up and coming artists (although "artist" is way too glorious of a term for me, and I would never apply it to myself!!!). I'll have to try this new drink next time. How do you pronounce it? I want to make sure I get the right drink when I go.
littleflower+JMJ Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 i would never know how to order at a place like starbucks.....although all these chocolate talk sure sounds yummy!
matt_in_ohio Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Is the Chantico a hot or cold drink? I don't like hot drinks. Just curious.
