My biggest problem with Phatmassers

Recommended Posts

Posted

I'm not a big time sports fan, but I'm going to see if I can get into hockey this year, after all, I'm from Michigan. The OHL Plymouth - Sarnia game yesterday was cool, Sarnia won!

I also saw Wisconsin beat Michigan yesterday in football. I live like 10 miles from U of M, but I don't go there and was glad to see them brought downa peg, Mwuhahahaha!!!!!

Now, will you be attending for the sport itself, or just for the fights?

Personally, I'd attend for the fights.

Today, for example, I had to watch my favorite Big 10 team, Purdue, lose to Minnesota in OT. How that happened, I'll never understand. I mean, the team mascot is a gopher!

Hey! Have you seen that thing? It's like a gopher with a glandular problem.... I sure wouldn't mess with it...

sour grapes....

Maybe so ... but you've gotta admit that when you think "ferocious fighting animals" gophers don't even come into the top 25.

And "Hoosiers" do? :idontknow:

And what's a Boilermaker going to do? Make the little gopher tipsy?

Purdue's the Boilermakers -- aka, dude on major steroids.

I have no idea what a Hoosier is. I make it a point to not speak to people from Bloomington. (No offense to any IU students here)

I know that. But for someone who comes from a state with an ambiguous mascot, you sure are quick to toss the "you're mascot's a wimp" comments... <_<

Boilermakers aren't all that ambiguous. Purdue Pete could kick quite a bit of a**. I'm making no statements about the woosiness factor of the Minnesota state mascot, just that of the University thereof.

My problem is that Phatmassers are into sports too much.

*isn't into sports*

Yeah right ROFL

I was listening to the Saints game on the radio cheering them on while our power was out.

Right now I'm watching the Eagles play.

Tomorrow at work I'll be watching the LSU Tigers at their first home game this season.

I don't like this thread.

[quote name='Cow of Shame' date='Sep 25 2005, 01:27 PM']Lemme git this straight...first you *itch that no one talks about 'sports'...then you insult someone who isn't specifically into your (unnamed at that time) favorite sport?!  I was under the impression that phatmass was an international community, and you feel that you should ostracise others who enjoy other sports?  Soccer not a sport?!  Do you have any idea of the popularity of soccer?  Or even lacrosse?  Just because *you* don't watch it doesn't mean that it's not considered a "professional American" sport, nor worth discussing.

Man, has anyone else seen a game of professional lacrosse?  Those dudes just *beat* each other with those sticks (crosses)!

no comment...........maybe i should be gripping about those who make a big deal out of nothing.........try to read (if you can) my last post.........my gripe was that people on phatmass arent into american sports enough.........like football, basketball........sports that i like. I certainly didnt put down soccer. I even mentioned how i liked world cup soccer. But in the United States soccer is no that big!!!!!!!! You dont see millions of people who watch soccer on TV durin the US league championship do you? come on. I didnt mean to knock homeschool mom for soccer. I was just pointing out that phatmassers arent into the popular american sports that much, and how everytime i make a post about the NFL nobody is really interested. The NFL is the most popular american sport.........wouldnt you agree?

I'm an IU student and you totally knew that....
I still have no idea what a Hoosier really is and I grew up and IU fan... oh well... as we say, "We don't need a mascot we have Stripes!!" (Check out the IU Bball warm ups and you'll get it)...
But Biolermakers... what is that? There's a shirt on camus here that says, "Boiler this..." and has a pic of a little kid with a certain finger in the air... hehe... Purdue is lame.
