Anastasia13 Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 How do you know if you have real faith and not just some hypocritical superficiality of faith?
Pio Nono Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 JMJ 9/26 - Sts. Cosmas and Damien Light and Truth, Though no answer to your question can be complete, perhaps my two cents will be of some assistance. I would point you towards many Bibilical passages: 1. James 2:14-26 - A faith that is not accompanied by good works is hardly any faith at all. 2. 1 John 2:1-6 - Christ is our expiation for sin, and we know that we know Christ by the way in which we live His commandments. 3. 1 Peter 1:13-21 - While in this our earthly exile, we should "conduct [ourselves] with fear" of God and in thanksgiving. 4. Colossians 1:9-14 - Paul tells those at Colossos that he prays that they lead a life worthy of the Lord, which comes from their being filled with the knowledge of His will. 5. Romans 6:1-14 - In order to experience the Resurrection, faith must lead us to the Cross; we must allow ourselves to be crucified with Christ (he elaborates on what this means in vv.12-14) in order to embrace His Resurrection. Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono

i would say when that faith stands the test of severe criticism and intense pain or struggle. i also know that the more our faith is aided by understanding, the stronger it becomes. so, its important to learn as much as you can about what you believe in. read about faith, and what it is. that may help as well. --Faith
