Any of those sound like great options, but I opted for the living rosary.

Make a holy hour together, then go bowling.

I would ditch the movie because you spend 120 minutes not talking.

I saw, pray the rosary, go to Adoration and or Mass, then do a fun activity!!!! :D:

Even though I was the one who suggested the dinner and a movie, I like the zoo idea. It's fun, and give you plenty of time to talk while giving you something to talk about. But - and trust me on this - make sure she is wearing comfortable shoes! Nothing can ruin a date faster than a girl with sore feet. :o

Also - make sure you ask her what she would be interested in doing. I know that you probably wouldn't do anything without her input, but a lot of guys overlook this. It's her time too, you know!!!

I may get some flack from other forum members for this, but I would save any Catholic activities until a later date. While you're out with her (wherever you go), I might ask the question about her religion, but I wouldn't push it too hard. If she is Catholic, great. If she's not, and rejects the idea, then you've got some decisions to make. If she's not Catholic, but open to learning, share a little more about your faith each time you go out with her (assuming the first date goes well, of course!). You may be the one who brings her into the faith :)

Just remember to not be too nervous (a little is expected), and have FUN!

Good luck...

Matt. ^_^

sorry matt! I LOVE movies and dinner, but not on a first date.

HOWEVER, if the first date was watching LOTR back to back, I would definitely reconsider.

bowling is fun, the zoo is great, and putt-putt golf or the Race Trackers is fun too. although if we both were Catholic and knew it, I would love to see his parish or some great parishes in the area and attend Mass.

I was speaking from the point of view of someone who might be really nervous about their first date - the two hours of being with someone and not having to talk might be a good way to calm such a person down.

If extreme nervousness is not a problem, I'm all for going with an active activity ^_^

I also agree with someone who suggested a group date - again for the sake of nerves ^_^

Do what is fun, and what both of you would be comfortable with :)

yes. be comfortable.

I'm still laughing. I need to go to the debate table or the apologetic board to get serious again. :rolling:

"find out if she is catholic and if she is go to a living rosary"

I hope you know her religion before you date her.

i'm with matt, save the holy hours and rosaries for later, i think that might be a lil intimidating for a first date. THats just my idea though, just go and have a good time and dont forget to laugh.

I think the best first date (if you are of legal age), it to go to a comedy club.

It gives you the ability to

a) talk if you want
b) not talk if you are uncomfortable
c) laugh together

It isn't too much pressure, and it is pretty unusual. That was me an my husbands first date.

Even if she is Catholic, praying the rosary, or holy hour, or something like that might be a little much for her, especially if she hasn't REALLY been exposed to that. you might want to keep the first date a little lighter :) Just my opinion.

Ooo, that actually is a fun date idea. I enjoy comedy clubs, especially if it's a good comedian.

who is the sick mind who said they should go to green bay?

I'd do something social like the zoo or bowling (although bowling can be boring for only 2 people sometimes). The zoo offers good conversation starters and there's a friendly atmoshere. I'd do the zoo and then get coffee or something if you want to continue. Keep it simple on the first date. Just get to know each other. :)

My only thought is that going to a movie doesn't really give you much room to talk. I'm no date expert (see the "I'm a nerd" thread) but something fun is a good start.
