theculturewarrior Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I am easily discouraged. In fact, I'm pretty passive. It's a character flaw. Every time I had requested information from an order or from the Diocese, I was rejected or ignored. So I started thinking it wasn't meant to be. They don't want me! I had seen couples walking around my neighborhood, and I told God, "I miss that. I want to be a couple again." And then I started thinking I might like to get married. I started praying for "her." I have been praying the Liturgy of the Hours. I started in August, and it is part of my daily "routine" now. (You can't really call the Liturgy "routine.") It is Heaven on Earth, and when I pray, I feel so close to God that I think I might float up to Heaven. And I started thinking, "I could be happy for the rest of my life just praying." And I started to wonder if I would have this joy if I had a family. And I realized that I could devote my whole life to prayer if I joined an order. I've been confused about this for a long time. There is an answer on the Horizon though. If I am called to the religious life, I will be very persistent. If St. Therese can do it, so can I! Please pray for me, for discernment.

Be persistent until God closes the door. my morning prayer here at the seminary will be dedicated to your intentions tomorrow. peace...

Is it the one that says [i]how beautiful the hands that serve the wine and the bread to the sons of the earth[/i]? I love that song.
