Should the Office of Readings be said only at the beginning or end of the day, or is it licit to say it any time?

Thanks in advance,

9/29 - Feast of the Holy Archangels

theculturewarrior,

The Office of Readings (Matins), as we have it now, is set up so that it may be prayed at any time of the day before Night Prayer (Compline). Traditionally, it had a "nighttime" character about it (so it would be said before Lauds), but it is not so any longer. Hope this helps.

Yours,
Pio Nono
