MilesChristi Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 (edited) hey, i'm a college student. recently one of my roommates has been sleeping with this girl. last nite i got back to the room and they were there. she asked me if it was alright if she spent the nite with him. of course, i think it's very sinful but i didnt know how i could convincingly explain it to her (a fallen away catholic) in a few minutes. so i just blurted out, "yeah, sure...go ahead." almost immediately i regreted it. i wish i could have done something differently, but the situation was so awkward, and i didn't know what to say. did i sin gravely by giving approval? do i need to confess this before receiving holy communion? thanks for the help... Pio Nono Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 JMJ 9/29 - Feast of the Holy Archangels MilesChristi, If it weighs so heavily on your conscience, then you might want to talk about it to get it off your chest; however, I don't think that you sinned gravely. In the future, know that as a "shareholder" in that house, you have rights, like the right to assert yourself. You don't have to explain yourself. Next time she wants to stay over, just say no. If she asks why, tell her she smells or something. Make it so that she doesn't want to be there. And tell your roommate that he's asking too much of you by asking you to let his girlfriend stay over. Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono
