I live 15 minutes from St. John's...or I do when I'm at home...currently I'm 6 hours away...but that's off topic. Yes, I've heard of it since it started. It is currently 5 years from completion. Anyway, I've seen it, they had it on display here at my college. On the one hand I thought it was really cool. Very artistic. Very beautiful, and unique. However, it was the NRSV with inclusive language...and one picture they loved pointing out was a picture modeled after a picture from a cave wall of a "huntress" (I, however, thought it looked like a fat guy...as did several other people, but they claimed it was a huntress). It bothered me that they put so much effort into making it "inclusive" in the sense of "I'm okay, you're okay, we're all okay" type thing, where no one dares to say "THIS IS HOW THINGS ARE, DEAL WITH IT!" Although, I may have gotten that impression due to the fact that I know St. John's and what goes on out there. If anyone else has seen it I'd be interested in knowing their impression of it.
