Ziggamafu Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Ever been to www.catholic-heirarchy.org? Apparently, quite a few bishops trace their succession back to Scipione Cardinal Rebiba. Any idea why this is?
dspen2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 and this is a big thing, because??? who is this cardinal?
Ziggamafu Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 not big. just curious. check out the site.
Ziggamafu Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 here's a link to the CA forums discussion (it contains some really cool links): apostolic succession records?
EcceNovaFacioOmni Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Dude was big time in his day it appears.
phatcatholic Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 so, is there something wrong w/ tracing your succession back to this guy? (i'm to lazy right now to find out myself)
Ziggamafu Posted October 3, 2005 Author Posted October 3, 2005 i don't think so, really. It makes sense that a lot of bishops trace their line back to a single guy. but Protestants might see it as evidence that the line is fraudulent, somehow... anyway the sites have some cool resources that i didn't know about = )
