So I had no plans for pro life sunday other than going to church and maybe praying in front of the blessed sacrament for a while.

And then I saw in the church bulletin: Pro Life Sunday Prayer Service 72nd St 2-3pm

I just felt like I HAD to go. I was dying to go!!

So I went and protested on 72nd St (Which Micah can attest is a REALLY busy street!) And I held up a sign that said: Abortion KILLS Children

I have never seen so many middle fingers in my whole life!

I was so hungry and my back hurt the entire time, but my feet stayed glued to that sidewalk, knowing that somewhere I might have changed someone's mind or got them to research what abortion REALLY is.

I felt like I was doing the Lord's work.

And you know what's funny? Most people that drove by did not say anything, but the ones that did, 99.9% were honking and giving up thumbs up and clapping!!!! WOOOO HOOOOO!

I can't wait until I can do it again!!!!!!!!!! :saint:

I'm glad your experience was uplifting :) I did it last year (they didn't even give us information this year...I'm kinda upset) and I remember feeling really depressed afterwards. But I was glad to be out there anyway. :)

I'm looking up some sort of extra curricular group for college students to join...

Wow, we did the same thing today on 23rd and O Street which Micah can also vouch is a very busy street. That's wonderful. Actually, I too held up a sign that said Abortion Kills Children. That's great. I pray that more people are become aware of the dignity of human life. Go pro-life club!

Also, don't worry about the middle fingers. One lady last year said that she had three abortions, which was just an aweful thing to say, but these are the people we need to pray for most. This year wasn't as bad. We had a few middle finger and one lady screams something about "Pro-choice". I did the sign of the cross and prayed for the lady. There's no point in getting angry. It takes away from what our real purpose of protesting is. We are the tools God is using to build up His family and we need to live our lives according to His will. God Bless everybody who helped with the Pro-Life movement.

I just so badly wanted to hold up a sign that read:

"If you don't want to HAVE to make the choice, keep your legs closed!!!"

But that's a faux-pas when it comes to peaceful protesting....

:hehe:

The technical term for today is "Respect Life Sunday."

We had a protest today as well, but I was unable to make it this year.

Respect Life Sunday...very cool! ^_^

They should have it like more than once a year :D:

In North Richland Hills Texas we got 42 car honks, 37 peace signs, 34 thumbs up, 17 wooots, 1 FU with flying birdie and 2 other non verbal birdies. 1 fender bender. So I really did want to rip that finger right off that ladies hand and leave her with a bloody stump.... but I suppose my SD wouldn't approve.
