Nicole8223 Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I had 4 pulled, and then found out I was allergic to penicillin and wound up in the hospital with infectinos from the surgery and hives all over my body. If you aren't sure if you are allergic to penicllin, tell them you are anyway!!!!! I was sick for 2 months straight...it was a nightmare. I KNOW your experience will be much better, cause it can't be worse!!!!

philothea Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Prayers! But it very likely will be no big deal at all. Modern dentistry is spiffy. (Unless you're weird like Nicole ) FWIW, I recently read studies that young adults without wisdom teeth were healthier overall than ones who still had them. Made me want to get mine pulled. And I've taken care of them so well all these years...

phatcatholic Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 you don't HAVE to be put to sleep either (general anesthesia). the local anesthesia coupled with laughing gas works just as well and it is MUCH cheaper. plus, u don't have to worry about coming off the general anesthesia (which some people can have problems with)

I didn't eat too much the first few days... and they say you should have a shake from McDonalds or something afterwards to help numb things and keep swelling down... I remember being spoon fed some by my mom... but I can barely recall anything happening after being put out...

There is hope for you still! Don't worry about it either! You are at the hands of a trained professional and God made those hands and I don't think He'd let them harm you

Hehe, oh those MacDonald things (just forgot the name) ...they sound really good but so much sugar!! (yes I'm weird like that, haha).
