Didacus Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I lost a bet: Here are the career stats of Martin Brodeur: SEASON Team GP W L OT MINS GA SO AVG A PIM 1991-92 N.J. 4 2 1 0 179 10 0 3.35 0 0 1993-94 N.J. 47 27 11 8 2625 105 3 2.40 0 2 1994-95 N.J. 40 19 11 6 2184 89 3 2.45 2 2 1995-96 N.J. 77 34 30 12 4434 173 6 2.34 1 6 1996-97 N.J. 67 37 14 13 3838 120 10 1.88 4 8 1997-98 N.J. 70 43 17 8 4128 130 10 1.89 3 10 1998-99 N.J. 70 39 21 10 4239 162 4 2.29 4 4 1999-00 N.J. 72 43 20 8 4312 161 6 2.24 4 16 2000-01 N.J. 72 42 17 11 4297 166 9 2.32 1 14 2001-02 N.J. 73 38 26 9 4347 156 4 2.15 4 8 2002-03 N.J. 73 41 23 9 4374 147 9 2.02 0 10 2003-04 N.J. 75 38 26 11 4555 154 11 2.03 0 4 2005-06 N.J. 9 4 5 0 515 31 0 3.61 0 0 749 407 222 105 44026 1604 75 2.19 23 84 TOP TEN LEADING REASONS why Marting Brodeur is better than Patrick Roy: 1. Martin will be the most fabled of Roy's records if he keeps playing for another 3 years or so, Roy's career wins: Roy: 551 Brodeur: 407 2. Brodeur has had 4 seasons of 40 wins or more, one of only three goalies in history (Plante, Sawchuck and Brodeur) -- notice Patrick isn't there. 3. Brodeur already has more shutouts than Roy: Roy 66 Brodeur : 75 4. Brodeur is the only goalie in the league who can challenge the most outstanding career record for goaltenders: Sawchuck's 103 career shutout mark. 5. Brodeur has never refused the call to play for his country: Canada 6. Brodeur never had a sh*t-fit on the ice and demanded being traded to another team because of an argument with his coach. 7. Brodeur has played, and will most likely play, his entire career for a single hockey club: The New Jersey Devils 8. Brodeur has always been a class act off the ice, just as he has been on the ice as well. 9. Brodeur has an Olympic Gold medal --- Roy, stayed home to watch TV reruns instead. 10. Brodeur is still palying, and will be palying until he physically cannot - becasue he loves the game, not the money and fame. Roy could have kept on playing, but got tired of the game - because he simply does not love it as much. Hope this covers my debt PV, let me know if you want anything to be added.... (PS I just could not find that other thread you started when you lost your bet.... the one about Montreal.... can you find it?)
Didacus Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 PS: my peronal favorite goaltender of all-time: Vlademir Tretiak He single handedly (or almost) stopped one of the most devastating hockey machines of all-time - team Canada, 70s. His legend will endure as long as there are goaltenders in hockey, just like my close second favorite goaltender - George Vezina... (and Ken Dryden a close third).
zabbazooey Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I love watching hockey! I love going to games, especially.
Didacus Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 oh, and for the last time DAMMIT BASEBALL is not even a SPORT!!! There is nothing in the sportsworld beyond hockey. And my bro is 2 years older than me... that makes him something like 33 or 34 years old. He's retired now.
RC_ Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I played goalie...mostly because I couldn't skate...I was more of a big block than anything else.
