Brother Adam Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Got a copy of the spring schedule of classes a day early and next semester is lookin' good: Theology of Christ (Fr. Dan Pattee) Sacraments (Dr. Regis Martin) Christian Marriage (Dr. Scott Hahn and Kimberly Hahn) Biblical Studies II Methodology II Catechetical Saints Christian Ministries in the Church Today
Brother Adam Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 I know, its a "to die for" schedule. Actually I'm much more excited about getting to have Dr. Martin and Fr. Pattee than I am Scott Hahn.

I'll just have to content myself with praying that I get into one of Peter Kreeft's classes next semester.

No watching a crazy movie with Antonio Banderas playing a priest for extra credit for you. Be relieved! VERY relieved! (and 7 classes?! what's up with that!?)

most people want to take his classes because he is 'Scott Hahn', just like people want to buy the 'brand name' rather than the not known name. His teaching is no doubt orthodox and good, but that doesn't make him the only, or even the best professor on campus. Actually his teaching style certianly isn't the best from what other students have said (but not that it is bad either).
phatcatholic Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 u always make me worry about whether i should go there or not......

jiyoung Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 When I went for my campus visit, I got to sit in on one of Fr. Pattee's classes. Even though I was trying not to fall asleep (darn airplanes!), I was absolutely fascinated. Yay for good schedules. Can anybody tell me what the choirs are like over there, by the way?

I'm only one person out of thousands who have been in the program. And there's probably some difference between the MA program and the BA program, though I've taken 3 MA classes now. Knowing what I know now, I certianly would have still considered going to FUS, but I probably would have looked at other schools as well. Edited October 15, 2005 by Brother Adam
Thy Geekdom Come Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 If Dr. Hahn's teaching style is anything like his Bible study style, I'd love it. Different people prefer different styles...can't blame a man for having his own.

Yeah, we watched the movie "The Body"... shown for extra credit-- by a priest! In which Antonio Banderas throws off his roman collar at the Cardinal at the end of the movie and claims "that's why I'm leaving the Church to worship God in my own personal way!"
