Why does blogging draw so many people in?

What is the good that it does?

Why did i make my own blog?

:)

Blogging helps me get my feelings out...good or bad.

Most of the time, I write good things about my day! Yay!

It's a great way for me to keep in contact with everyone I never get a chance too.

:)

It's fun....and you can keep in good touch with friends.

It can do a lot of good, it can be your whole apostolate if you wanted it to be. ;)

yes i am sure it could be as basically all you do is write stuff. I like the idea that you can earn money if your blog becomes popular (at least at the website that i am on).

my blog is

www.bobbykeller.blogspot.com

I like it simple like that though i don't know how to do anything with it anyway.

I have a livejournal, but i wouldn't call myself a "blogger." I think people who get all of their news from blogs are silly silly people :)

I've gone through my fair share of blogs. I had a livejournal and then a livejournal and a xanga and then a blogger and then my xanga again and now I just write random things when I'm bored on my myspace blog. I actually just finished writing about my awesome day.

I don't get my main news from blogs, but I do look to a handful for commentary or analysis. Generally, they're people that I know or friends of people I know. I don't just read random blogs.

I tried doing one, but the pressure to be esoteric and yet witty every day got to me. I can't command those things -- they just happen.

what do you mean?

Why would you have to be anything but yourself?

Isn't it your blog?

Posted

Well, yeah, but what's the point of having a blog if no one reads it? And who's going to read it if you're not consistently interesting?

I think more people write blogs than read them! :P:

To which I say, what's the point? Why write a blog no one is reading?

If that's true, it's only because I'm inspired by all the esoteric, witty folks who post here.

i don't think that the most important part about writing a blog is the other people. I think it is more of a method of personal expression. I am not so interested if any one else reads my blog. It is jsut there so that they can.

I hope for some it inspires them to think a little bit, but i am not going to try to be extra funnyor anything like that to keep them interested.

what are other people's blogs

What is your LJ?

(I'm amberdine)

I like my blog because sometimes I think I'm clever, and it's fun to have an outlet. Blogs are better than trying to post someplace primarily conversational like, say, here, because a lot of times people don't respond to everyday observations. On a blog, it feels normal if no one much responds.

I just noticed someone I don't know added me to their friends list. Which is cool, and usually I like "friend" them too...

Except this girl's LJ is French! I am not sure what to do.

I think writing in blogs is fun, I have a live journal (www.livejournal.com/users/muy_gwai) a xanga (www.xanga.com/Muy_Gwai) and a myspace, but I don't like myspace so I don't use it. I also have a blog spot (http://muygwai.blogspot.com.) ..but I only have it to comment on other people's blog spots. I don't actually update it, though I could if I knew other people that have it. :)

Eeek, I had a very bad experience with blogs. A word of warning, be very careful of what you right. More people than you imagine read blogs and such.

Drama ain't a good thing, especially when the other party is known to blow up and overreact, and threaten legal action.

I've been tempted more than once to get a Livejournal, just to join some communities.

anyone here part of the LJ "catholicism" community?

Posted

I joined a bunch of catholic communities on LJ. There is a lot of overlap. I am now only in catholics. Also carmelitespirit, and of course phatmass_pham.
