Mea MAXIMA Culpa for indicating the contrary.

I went to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. There was some BEAUTIFUL traditional American art. I even liked some of the modern stuff. :)

Cool!

When I was in Paris, I was going to go to the Lourve, but I decided not too...
Now I regret it. :(

I own several pieces of American art, most of it made in Indianapolis, and I LOVE it!

I think it would be a sweeping generalization to say that you love or hate ALL American art. There are so many styles, traditions and periods!

As far as American art goes, I love Native American pottery, Southwestern Art (especially Georgia O'Keefe), and some ultramodern stuff.

Has anyone here been to the Quilt Museum in Boston? If you're ever in the neighborhood, they have beautiful old quilts!

I own some Native American art that's about it.

The stuff I don't like isn't art! :P:

So, your working definition of "art" is "it's art if I like it"?

It's just awfully subjective, that's all

Not from my point of view.

I think there needs to be a line drawn somewhere. There's a gallery at my college that shows local artists, and one of the pieces consisted of two 20-ounce bottles of Coca-Cola, juxtaposed next to a Fleet enema.

If that's art, then I'm Elizabeth Taylor.

Glad somebody caught that.

I was hoping it would be Sojourner though.

Sojourner is a reporter, therefore she is the objective one.
