Thy Kingdom Come!

My brothers and sisters in Christ,

José Sánchez del Río, will be beatified with a few other martyrs from the Cristero war in Mexico. Card. José Saraiva Martins, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints, will be the presider at the ceremony.

Fr. Robert DeCesere, LC; who knows that I am seriously discerning the Legion, and believe that is where I am called, invited me to go to Mexico for the beatification. Fr. Alvero, General Director of the Legion will preside at a mass the day before for Youth Movement of the Legion and also for the Regnum Christi movement. I would take part in the Regnum Christi movememnt, starting the day of that mass. One of the first steps in becoming a Legionaire.

I told Fr. Robert that my mother would say no, because well she doesn't like religion, doesn't support my vocation to the priesthood, and wouldn't let me go to Mexico. Last night when I visited her at the store, I jokingly asked her Can I go to Mexcio. She didn't say anything, and I didn't say anything yesterday.

This morning she was off from work so I printed off the flyer from Fr. Robert and I said you her, "I know you will say no probably, but i was wondering if I could attend the beatification ceremony in Mexico, I'd go with Fr. Robert."

She said she'd think about it. I found out at school I could get a student loan, to cover the airfare and the cost of the accomodations. Meaning I would pay everyother week 100 dolors from my pay check at my real part time job. I roughly make 515 a month, so I am hoping to get a reasonable loan.

I came home as I do each day from school and told her that. But then I went on to say that I didn't know if Fr. Robert would be going on the short term plan of 4 days, (Nov. 18-21) or if he would be there the entire time which would be until the 26th. She's like I don't want you missing that much school. So I lost hope that I could go.

I called Fr. Robert today and got in touch with him, and it turns out he is leaving on the 17th in the morning from Chicago on a Non stop flight to Gudalahara. And would be returning on the 21st. The plan that I initially wanted to go on.

I haven't shared this with my mother yet, but am first going to pray about it before I tell her this. But if I have somebody to travel with she'd be a little more safer. The only time I may have to fly alone is from Green Bay to Chicago, to catch the Non stop flight, which really wouldn't be that bad, because our green bay airport is really small and I've flown out of there once before.

So I request your prayers, maybe a hail mary, because our Mother is always listening to our intention. Also our Blessed Mother is the patron of my vocation and every legionaire is consecreated to Momma's heart, so that is another reason to pray a Hail Mary!

Please pray my mother will let me go, this would be a major step in my vocation!

Thanks for the prayers!

Yours in Christ,

Eddie Lee

It is 250 for accomodations, food, hotel, transportation while in Mexico.

I've seen on the net anywhere from 500-700 dolors for airfare... it all depends if I go from Illinois, or Green Bay to illinois, to guadmaharla, The connecting flight from GB to Illinois I think would be 75-100 dolor.

I have to call the travel agency once my mother says ok.

Please pray I get the loan, get on the same plane as Fr. Robert, and that my mother says yes. The Loan officer at the Credit union won't be in until Tuesday.

I told my mother Fr. Robert said I could fly with him, she said we'll have to talk about it more, but we're already discussing co-signers for the loan...

Keep praying...

Don't you have to become a member at STA travel, like prove your a student or soemthing?

I'm not sure I have never actually been able to buy from them.(my funds not their fault) But I don't think so.

I checked it out, and they don't have the flight I want to take (to travel with Fr. Robert) and it looks like Orbitz is the cheapest.

Also, I need to ask Fr. Robert if I could carpool with them from Egerton to Chicago, as that would be more conveinet. Pray they say yes.

Now i need to get some sleep!
