AlterDominicus Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I need a new acoustic guitar, the one I have is a kiddie one, I'm looking for a cheap God sounding, light so I can carry it without a strap, good brand acoustic guitar. I've been so much bound to steal one of the sisters guitars, hahaha. Sisters YOU KNOW I wouldnt! ::
photosynthesis Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 God-sounding guitar? interesting... do you want a folk guitar or a classical guitar?
AlterDominicus Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 Most likely classical. God-Sounding, yeah I use my electric guitar for all my Christian Songs I'm the solo Dominic Band But when I enter the convent I dont think the sisters will allow me to bring my electric guitar along haha, so I plan to sell, um...........somehow.
Jaime Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Seagull by Larivee I've met the luthier when he first started the company. And I'm shocked that prices are still as low as they are! Robert Goudin, (the luthier) started making solid top guitars for an unbelieveably low price. And today you still can't get a comparable guitar for the price!! I've seen them around here for 3-4 hundred bucks. You can certainly buy a better solid top but not at that price. And if you have the opportunity to get an economical solid top, you have to go for it. Seriously wonderful guitar. It performs like a guitar twice the price!!
AlterDominicus Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 Coolio, I look into it. Thanks.

I have an Olson handmade guitar that is valued at around 6k (I bought it before they became famous) and the Seagull can do things my guitar cannot do! Also when you buy a solid top guitar, you don't lose value like you do with laminant guitars. If for some reason you decide to sell it, you have a much better shot at getting your money back!
AlterDominicus Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 Is there a website do you know?

Philippe Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 they also get better the longer you have them and the more you play them... its part of their ageing which is actually a good thing
Jaime Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I do indeed!! Tis here at this fine site One more thing about guitars and their inherent value (I know I'm rambling about stuff most don't care about. But I love this stuff) Guitars are valued by where they are built. American made guitars = most value European guitars = next Japanese = next Other asian = bottom of the rung Seagulls are Canadian. That puts them in the first bracket. That means they keep their value better!!
Philippe Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 it was so sweet, i bought my guitar when the exchange rate was good so my guitar is even cheaper.... ahh i love it, i play it all the time
AlterDominicus Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 I really love that M Seris M6 Ceder GT and the S Series - S6+ Burst GT.
Fides_et_Ratio Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Wow. If they let me keep my laptop and my books you could tell Sr. Camille I'd consider visiting her (lol). And... if you do happen to visit them sometime in the future, find Sr. Camille from Columbus and tell her that Jillian says 'hello'!
AlterDominicus Posted October 22, 2005 Author Posted October 22, 2005 You can be sure of that my friend! As matter of fact I am seeing Sister Joseph Andrew this November in my state, hopefully she'll bring Annie or someone along with her. It'd be a party! Particularly since ((Sonar is playing there!
