Guest guest Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I really really dislike praying the rosary. I gain no spiritual fruit from it, it just doesn't do anything for me. Since it is one of the primary devotions in Roman Catholicism, should I make more of a concerted effort to pray it? Should I pray it anyways? I feel really bad because I am catholic and dislike praying the rosary.
Pio Nono Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 JMJ 10/23 - Thirtieth Sunday Though it is a recommended prayer, remember that the Rosary is a private devotion and no one is required to say it. If you don't gain any fruit from it, don't say it - there are plenty of other prayers within our Catholic treasury that will suit your spiritual needs. Have you considered practicing lectio divina or saying the Liturgy of the Hours? I find those to be very fruitful in my own spiritual life. Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono
