mariology21 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Quick question..... A friend of mine wishes to get married on the Feast of the Annunciation. She's thinking March 25th 2008 which is during the Octave of Easter. I brought up the thought that I wasn't too sure if wedding Masses could be celebrated during the Octave of Easter. Can someone clarify this for us? Could they still have a wedding just outside of Mass? (And yet still in the Church....they want to be married in the Church as they are both extremely devout Catholics.) Or am I completly wrong and they could have a wedding Mass? Thanks!!!
cappie Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Ritual Masses e.g. Marriage are not allowed on Solemnities with obligation, Sundays of Advent, Lent, and the Easter Season, The Paschal Triduum, All Souls Day, Ash Wednesday, Weekdays of Holy Week and the Days in Easter Octave. Marriage can still be celebrated outside Mass with the proper readings. As in all things it's better to check for any local variations with the local pastor.
