Lounge Daddy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Michelle Malkin: Check out the photo of Condoleezza Rice that was published by USA Today last week: Notice anything peculiar about her eyes? No, Condi isn't possessed; the photo was manipulated. This news comes courtesy of From The Pen, which found a pre-doctored version of the Associated Press photo on Yahoo! España: Ask USA Today's Graphics and Photos Managing Editor, Richard Curtis (rcurtis@usatoday.com), what the ^$%#@+! is going on. *** source: Michelle Malkin The Pen Yahoo! España *** and now... USA TODAY CORRECTS...
they now run this correction... The photo of Condoleezza Rice that originally accompanied this story was altered in a manner that did not meet USA TODAY's editorial standards. The photo has been replaced by a properly adjusted copy. Photos published online are routinely cropped for size and adjusted for brightness and sharpness to optimize their appearance. In this case, after sharpening the photo for clarity, the editor brightened a portion of Rice's face, giving her eyes an unnatural appearance. This resulted in a distortion of the original not in keeping with our editorial standards.
read it HERE can i get a harumph... ?
Sirklawd Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 im glad a person doesnt have to be mature to get a journalist or editorial position in this country....
jezic Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 what is up with stuff like this? Why do they do things like that? Does anyone know if this was "intentional" or not?
crusader1234 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Everything in the media is intentional. Corporations pay millions of dollars to control the media, and push their agendas. Be it left wing bias or right wing bias, all media pushes an agenda. Unless you want to get into open ended independent news, which is extremely hard to find and most of the good independent writers get snatched up by the corporations anyways. Either way, she's not exactly a pretty lady.
photosynthesis Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 USA Today has editorial standards? what?
Socrates Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 They should have just made her eyes totally blank white, like a comic-book character. Or maybe red. That would've looked cooler.
