Dude, that's AWESOME!

I just like to play the devil's advocate with all ya'all ULTRA-TRADITIONALISTS...

Even though MOST times we're COMPLETE opposite of each other Era - I still VERY MUCH respect your posts...sometimes.

I feel like many of people here are overly high-strung.

I still feel this way...

Perhaps I can interest some of you in some 'medication'?

I was kinda put off at first by the name of the site.... phatmass just sounded too hip to be cheezy AND too cheezy to be hip at the same time. Then I was convinced to join, and I've been sporadic in my posting here, as I've got my own forums to run, but I do enjoy it from time to time. The people here are great, and the directory rocks.

I discovered Phatmass just before Lent... when I was planning to give up internet. So bookmarked it and waited. It was SO NICE to see a Catholic site with pretty graphics and a sensible layout. I am very picky about that sort of thing.

When I started posting I (inadvertently) got in an argument with Brother Adam right away. I thought dUSt was.... ummm... refreshingly obnoxious. ;) Everyone else seemed extremely cool, but I was nervous, so I probably sounded weird. Er, more weird than usual.

My sister, azaelia introduce me to PhatMass. I didn't get into it at first because people wouldn't acknowledge my posts. I just kept posting and finally people were more familiar with me. It was cool. I enjoy this site so much, I've actually met a couple PhatMassers one of which has had a profound impact on my life already.

Thank God for Phatmass.

i dont remember a whole lot about when i first came except that i was pumped because there were other remnant fans on the board. my first couple of posts were there. i guess its fitting since it was someone from remnant who introduced me to the site (partially via his rockin t-shirt).

i do remember though that in the first couple of months...

.... i just remembered something... when i first got here i remember thinking this place was crazy. i had just gotten back from the girls retreat and the guys had been talking about this girl jennie. her name was on a truck inside of a heart. (you know when its so dirty you can draw on it) and i remember getting on and being like 'i know who you are jennie but you dont know who i am' and im pretty sure she was scared of me at first haha.

and i remember getting to know jennie and really liking her a lot. we had a lot of fun together. then she introduced me to apologetics and i went crazy with that for a while.

thats also when i met phatcatholic. instant hit (if this were music). we got along really well too and i was hooked from then on.

no turning back now.... ive MET so many people through phatmass, both in my area and across the country, that have impacted my life in such a positive way! yay for phatmass!

i met my best friend. i met my sis. i met my sis's husband. i met so many incredible people. yay.

Oh Daniel. I think I still have pictures somewhere of that.

I was intro'd by a girl I met on Avemaria singles (who's identity I won't reveal). One of the first things I did was watch the "superpope" anime. When I heard the name, "phatmass" and saw all the "Catholic hip-hop" stuff, I didn't think I'd have any interest - sounded kinda cheesy and too wanna-be hip, and I hate rap and hip-hop.

Then I found the debate table, and was instantly hooked.
It was like, "welcome home!"
San-i-tar-i-um!

I think it is interesting how many people felt unwelcome or left out.

Maybe we should work on that.

I thought of one more thing too: I felt like a freak being called a "lurker", I didn't even want to post b/c I hated that being associated with my name. I also felt like I was rejected b/c it is so hard to be considered a "Church Faithful". I felt like I was being told I wasn't Catholic enough.

Now I am okay with it all, but at first, I was really thrown off of Phatmass b/c of these things.

You know, "lurker" described me perfectly at the first . . . I just watched and listened for months before I ever registered . . . "guest" would have been the label the system applied to me . . . eventually, I just had to start talking . . . and now it seems I have trouble stopping . . .

I think it's so amazing how we have all been brought together here through so many different means. If I hadn't found phatmass when I was in college, I don't know what I would do now!! If it wasn't for you guys, it would be so much harder to persevere as an authentic Catholic.

Thanks for being so awesome everyone!!!

Alas, I too was taken under the misleadings of inDEED. He almost had me believing that Dust was beaten to a pulp by William Hung in high school. How gullible am I?
