qfnol31 Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 My choir will be singing the Faurè Requiem for All Souls' Day at Cistercian in Dallas (Irving) on Wednesday, November 2, 2005. Please come! It is an incredible Mass, and the Cistercians are awesome!
photosynthesis Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 *sigh* i love the faure requiem.... but i'm nowhere near Texas : the only experience I've ever had of Texas is sleeping in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport chapel between flights....
Era Might Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Wow. That's great. Are you in the choir, or do you mean your parish choir?
qfnol31 Posted October 29, 2005 Author Posted October 29, 2005 It's actually my school's choir, and I am in that.
Theoketos Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I really might come to it. I might bring my youth group.
Sinner Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Can you tell me something more about it? Is it a separate program from the Mass? Part of the Mass? Replaces the usual singing? I am a dolt on this subject.

Plus, the Cistercian monks have some of the prettiest Masses! The Liturgy is incredible already, but for All Souls' Day, our school choir sings the music written specifically for the Requiem Mass, which if you know the words is awesome. Sinner Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I believe I will be there with my daughter. I would enjoy meeting you after Mass if you have a chance. You will find us kneeling for a bit after Mass and praying..... but then you will notice us as we loiter around the sculptures...... I love sculpture. I know what you look like from your xanga! Maybe see you there!

Unfortunately, we'll all be wearing black and white and red ties (which are fun. .
