zunshynn Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 People say that the catechism is a great source for apologetics, but I find it frustrating because it really isn't. It explains what catholic beliefs are and certainly that is important, but it does not really explain why we believe them, and it cites church documents more than scripture, which don't stand with protestants. Is there a good book that explain how all of our beliefs developed, and what in scripture supports it somewhere? Because I know there are numerous books that explain specific things, but that's awfully expensive, and I find it difficult to get information online.

Read the documents and the citations in the documents, you'll see the Biblical sources.
