theculturewarrior Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Sometimes, when I'm having a hard time finding a place to park, I see a handicapped parking place and I think, "I wish I was handicapped!" God's reading this though, so just let me clear the air. I DO NOT wish I was handicapped! What silly things have you said to God?
RC_ Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 At least you don't fake being handicapped to get the space... Cool Sticker Sometimes (especially when I get bad grades or do something really stupid) I "wish" I was dead.
stargirl3:16 Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 "I wish I were an Oscar Meyer weiner." I didn't really say that, but still, something you don't want to tell God.

Era Might Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 (edited) When I was a kid watching the Red Sox, I would pray "please let them win this game and every one after it". I was serious too, lol. Edited November 1, 2005 by Era Might

"I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller, I wish I had a girl who looked fine, I would call her." </gangsta claire> ummm.... I wish I could have grown up in an orthodox Jewish household, and I could have gone to Hebrew School and learned something useful, instead of growing up in a lukewarm, unorthodox "catholic" family in a liberal parish. I love my family to death, but if I went to hebrew school when I was little, I'd be able to read the Bible in Hebrew and chant in Hebrew and do cool stuff like that. They didn't teach us that in CCD, they just taught us about sunsets and flowers and daffodils and jesus loves you. Then I could go through RCIA in my 20's, get real catechesis and I wouldn't have to learn the hard way Plus going through RCIA means you get all kinds of free stuff. So I'd get the free stuff, AND I'd know Old Testament Hebrew. What could be better? Plus I'd get to come into the Church @ Easter Vigil and I would know what was going on. this probably all sounds really stupid. but being a re-vert is dumb and you miss out on all the good stuff
photosynthesis Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 i also wish for parents that were married to each other. and curly hair!!!!

(And it's not always real catechesis! : )
theculturewarrior Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 BTW: I definitely learned every thing in life the hard way, even the Truth of the Church! :

RCIA is a communal experience that you're never really part of unless you're becoming Catholic or a sponsor going through the process.
theculturewarrior Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 It wasn't for me! But I guess it is for most. Even then, there are lukewarm converts.
theculturewarrior Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 I feel like I want to die right now, but that is a feeling, not a prayer. Or even a want.

Proud2BCatholic139 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I said, I want to die and I never want to come back to earth again. I said I wanted a person dead. I said I wanted to kill a person and wished they were dead. Oh, brother, I am a fool.
philothea Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I am occasionally distressed about eternity, because I can't imagine putting up with myself for... ...ever. I don't quite know how to ask to stop existing, though. I only really go "whoops, did I say that?" after I ask for certain virtues I lack, when I know gaining them is going to hurt.
