Veridicus Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 A little while ago I was perusing the 'Answeringcatholicism' forums (seriously...its SUCH a joke compared to how effective phatmass is!) and the board leader..."Erol" I think....kept asking "Oh by the way wich tradition of your 16 church sects should we follow, since they all differ?" I came to realize that after 13 years of Catholic education I coulnd't name any other than the Latin Rite and Eastern Orthodox Rite of the Catholic Church. And to be perfectly honest, the only difference I can remember is married priests, icons, and something to do with priests having beards or somesuch. I know this is could be a LONG question to answer...but what are the various sects/rites of the Catholic Church? What makes them different/similar? Do they truly share the same dogma (even in regard to Mary, etc)? Where can I find more information about these sects? Thanks and God Bless!!!!! Todd
