tojo Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Convert would like to know: What's all this about?
photosynthesis Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 What's all this about? Well, I'm only on Day 3 of my preparation period, so I'm still figuring this out too. Consecration means, "to set aside for a sacred purpose." Marian consecration is setting aside your whole life, and giving it all to Jesus through Mary. The idea of "total consecration" comes from St. Louis Marie Grignon de Montfort, who emphasized that Mary had the perfect relationship with Jesus, and that we can have a perfect relationship with Jesus too, because He gave us His Blessed Mother on the cross. His way of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary is one of the ways of living out this relationship, but it is not the only way. St. Maximillian Kolbe, who was well-versed in the spirituality of St. Louis Marie de Montfort, established another type of Marian Consecration through his Militia Immaculata. Pope John Paul II has praised both methods of consecration, and he himself had consecrated his heart to Our Lady in the way of St. Louis de Montfort. scardella Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005
We have a lady?!
Of course... tonight, it's Luck! : But, seriously, I'm renewing it, myself! It was about time! I always get this happy feeling at the beginning, and, then, by the end, I'm thinking to myself, "Self, I'm glad this will be over soon!" Then, there's the happy part at the end. Then, three months later, I start to think...maybe it's time again... wash, rinse, repeat.
blovedwolfofgod Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 where did you download it off of photosynthesis?
photosynthesis Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 here's a site where you can read "true devotion to mary" for free: http://www.kensmen.com/catholic/totalconse...onmontfort.html Warning: this webpage is part of a radical traditionalist website that is anti-Vatican II. proceed with caution.
