homeschoolmom Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 After trick or treating, I take a 25% "chaperone fee" from my kids. They usually like Nerds and carp, so I get to take the good stuff... ANYWAY, I go to my bowl and HSDad has practically emptied it!!! He claims he's been stressed...

We take all the candy, count 'em and figure 25% (yes, everything is a lesson in our homeschool world). Then I let them designate the top favorite ("Please don't pick") items... and I take out my cut (the taxes in this house are pretty high). There's no way-- with the amount we got-- that they'd have been able to eat it all by the next time they get more candy (next weekend) anyway. They like all that horribly sweet and/or sour stuff. I like the chocolate. It works out great.
