Occasionalism

Is occasionalism actually a heresy? I know that Deism is, so it would seem like the extreme opposite would be as well.

I don't know whether occasionalism has officially been condemned; however, it is a philosophy which is untenable for a Catholic to hold. Occasionalism essentially entails the undoing of free will, which is dear to the Catholic mind. If it doesn't affirm free will, it's not Catholic. Hope this helps.
